Hans Christian Anderson and the National Library, Copenhagen

Hans Christian Andersen was important to the country of Denmark way before his stories were discovered by Disney. Here he is and here is the little mermaid statue which was put up in 1913 I believe.

The national Library of Denmark was just down the street from our hotel. It’s an interesting building,  a combination  of old and new. The new part is known as the black diamond.

And they do NOT use the Dewey Decimal System here!
