Starting the book making project. Thia morning we went to the library after breakfast to meet all together for planning and some training. We made our schedule for the next two weeks, it will be busy!  Then we practiced making little books, which is the craft Fernando wanted me to bring this year.   Here are Lara and Fernando at work.

In the afternoon, starting about 3, when the music teacher left and we had all the kids, we started our project. I showed them samples, including the ones we had made today. Then we talked about uses for their books. Diaries, drawings, poetry were all mentioned.

Those if you who donated index cards, craft paper, ribbon. yarn,etc, here it is. So thanks.  We will continue this project tomorrow

Tuesday morning in the Amazon

It’s another beautiful morning here and I have the place, and the internet, all to myself. The internet has been either not here or, yesterday, excruciatingly slow, but I may be on a roll now.

Yesterday morning Fernando came back from Iquitos with our new music teacher, Rafael. After breakfast he went to rest and we headed to the library for the Monday morning meeting. We didn’t get there, because the engine wouldn’t start. But we made up for it in the afternoon, there was music everywhere!
